Governor’s Teacher of the Year

2018

Mrs. Anastasia Findanis

Mrs. Findanis has worked in Fort Lee for over 11 years mostly as a kindergarten teacher here at School One.   She is a graduate of Caldwell University and received her Master’s degree from Walden University.  Mrs. Findanis has the innate ability to identify students who have obstacles to their academic and/or social and emotional growth.  She has worked in a collaborative environment with a special education teacher as well as several paraprofessionals over the years.  Mrs. Findanis’ ability to convey her concerns to parents has been paramount in her success in achieving academic as well as social and emotional growth for ALL of her students.  She is fair, kind and professional in all realms of her philosophy of teaching.

However, it doesn’t stop there.  Mrs. Findanis has be awarded “Coach of the Year” (coached two sports) by the Bergen County Coaches Association.  She’s very involved in the community, great rapport with parents, grade level leader and is enthusiastic about the new programs presented in the district which she has piloted.  This is only a snapshot of Mrs. Findanis who above everything “Takes Pride in her work”.

Mrs. Nancy Ripoli

Mrs. Ripoli has been in the Fort Lee School District supporting children for 28 years.  She is also a community member for decades.  Mrs. Ripoli is great at her job, basically she could be a teacher as her experience is priceless.  She encompasses everything an administrator or parent would want in the classroom with their children.  She is trustworthy, kind, loving and most of all caring.  She does the “dirty work” without complaints, lunch duty, bus duty, door monitoring, running all kindergarten students to the nurse, watching over other classrooms as needed and always with a smile on her face.  As a paraprofessional she goes above and beyond her responsibilities always ready to help.  She is a pleasure to have on staff and deserves this recognition without hesitation.
